Hard to put into words how life changing Earthlinks is. From the impeccably designed interiors, the peaceful location, and the 5* vegan food - that will leave you wanting more even though you can’t physically eat another mouthful! Everything here is set up for a perfect break in a stunning country.
Sandra and Jack go above and beyond to make sure you have the trip that works for you, even if you change your plans daily (as I constantly did! - sorry guys!)
The team of drivers, yoga and surf teachers are all so kind and passionate about what they do. As a solo female traveller I don’t think I have ever felt more safe and welcome on any trip, and I cannot wait to return! 🌟
What a wonderful place! And the vegan food even better. The hosts are a beautiful couple, happy to help and organize your time. No activity is impossible. Nice clean rooms. Great saltwater swimming pool. Highly recommended!
I had such a great time at the Earthlinks Surf and Yoga retreat. I spent 1 week at this lovely place. It was my first stop of my 4 month travel and I have to say it was the perfect start into my adventure! Jack & Sandra are amazing hosts. They are welcoming and thoughtful. You will arrive as a guest but will leave as a friend! They made me feeling at home everyday.
The property is gorgeous. The restored Villa with an amazing design and lot of lovely details is in the middle of the jungle but only 5 minutes away from the beach by Tuk Tuk. I loved waking up in the morning and listening to the sound of the nature like singing birds. I also loved the vegan food which was so yummie. I often have problems with my stomach but not during my stay at the Earthlinks. The food was healthy and always fresh prepared. It looked and tasted delicious! The yoga was excellent as was the surfing. Together with some sightseeing it is the perfect mix of doing sport, learning the culture and having also time to relax.
I can really recommend this place. I really hope to come again one day!
I had an incredible week with Jack & Sandra at their amazing property. I'm not vegan, but found myself thoroughly enjoying being vegan for the week as Sandra, a trained chef, created the majority of the meals each day using fresh and local ingredients. They made sure that there were plenty of activities/excursions to fill my time between yoga, surfing, & eating, so that there was never a dull moment. The property is gorgeous, sitting just on the edge of the jungle and only 5 min to the beach by tuk tuk. I've been to several retreats now, and one of the nice things about The Earthlinks was having meals and yoga onsite. Hoping a return trip will be in the not too distant future for me!
There are no simple words to describe this place... 💓
Friendly, welcoming ambience which makes you feel like at home 💕 A breathtaking location where you are woken up by the chirp of exotic birds as if you were in the middle of a jungle 🐦🐦🐤🌴🌴 Fresh, organic food which makes your mouth just water 🥑🥥🥝🍉 And, last but not least, the hosts who make you "enter as a client but leave as a friend" 😉 Just a perfect place for a yoga retreat 🧘♀️, surfing in the ocean 🏄♀️, sightseeing beautiful Sri Lanka ⛩ and charging your batteries under a palm tree in a calm garden 🏝... The place which will stay in my heart for ever ❤❤❤
I don’t know where to start beacuse it is so much to say! I came by myself, my first solotrip and I left with amazing memories and new friends. You feel welcome and a part of the family here at Earthlinks. Also bohdi cafe is a really nice spot next to the beach with really good vegan food! I spent 12 days here and enjoyed everyday! Have done yoga, tried surfing, trips around the island, swiming in the ocean and saltpool, ayrvedic course, eating vegan food, fresh fruit, watching sunset/sunrise, awesome discussion about life and much more. Jack, Sandra, Tim and Moody, Thank you❤️
The most magical, beautifully located, hosted with energy straight from the heart. I really cant wait to be back! Oh and the food is amazing as well!
If you are looking for a special place far away from mainstream and tourists, a time out to relax, do yoga and surfing, enjoy great&healthy food and meet wonderful people you should definitely come to Earthlinks!
I had a great time staying there for a week. The villa is nicely located close to a beautiful lake and I constantly felt I would be staying in a jungle. The house is a oase of quiteness and a great contrast to more busy Hikkaduwa. Only a couple of minutes by TukTuk and you reach Bodhi Café, Sandra&Jack's Restaurant directly at the beach.
Apart from the place itself, the owners of Earthlinks Sandra & Jack are wonderful hosts with a great taste in delicious vegan food and interior design.
But most important, they are wonderful human beings, you will love to share a glass of wine (or a coconut) with.
It was great meeting you! See you another time
We spent six nights at Earthlinks back in March 2019. We loved the hospitality of Jack and Sandra. We felt like being among friends. They made our stay very pleasant and provided everything we needed: The food was heavenly, great program for the week, including lots of yoga, surfing and sight seeing (Turtles!) This was the perfect last stay of our four week holiday in Sri Lanka. We very much recommend the Earthlinks retreat!
Only a few days passed since we left Earthlinks Sri Lanka and we already miss the place and all the greens and sounds of nature flowing into the room each morning. People say I'm a picky person, maybe I am because there are only few places which I'd really like to come back to. Luckily this is one of them. First of all - people, super friendly and extremely helpful hosts Sandra & Jack and Tim. They'll be your guide in the area and also the whole Sri Lanka island. Add to this big personality locked in a small body - Moody the Dog and you have the full picture. Second - place, either you stay in the old beautifully renovated house or newer part with tree view, both has its own charm. Everything surrounded by the garden. And the cherry on top of it - swimming pool with salty water, which really helps when you need to cool yourself down. Then food, super fresh and full of taste vegan/raw dishes (don't miss the ginger coffee). And I'm not even vegan or vegetarian! Secret tip: jump to the swimming pool at night and look at the starts trough palm trees, unforgettable thing.
I have traveled a lot in my time and been to the most beautiful islands in Malaysia and Australia. The Earth Links was in a league of its own. If the website has left you contemplating whether to go or not just book your tickets and get stuck in. I wish I had words to describe how I felt once I arrived. The food, the ambiance, and the hosts were just first class but with a sense of calmness and stillness. Sandra and Jack let me operate at my own pace and set out an itinerary that was bespoke to me with absolutely no pressure. I was overwhelmed and even shed a tear when i relaxed in one of the hammocks and just had this emotional release of energy that I must have been carrying around with me for months. I knew this break was well over due and that this spot was the spot to 'find' myself. It didn't disappoint. The yoga and the surfing was amazing and Sandra's cooking skills were beyond belief. I can honestly say it was the experience of my life. Thanks guys - i could write a book about my time with you :)
Earthlinks is a gorgeous surf & yoga vegan retreat in a colonial-style bungalow in Hikkaduwa. They keep things personal by taking on just 6 to 8 people per retreat. Even the surf sessions here have only two people per instructor. Aside from daily surf and yoga, the retreat includes: diverse and delicious vegan meals and a chance to learn how to prepare it (Sandra and Jack challenge the most cynical of omnivores to taste their food and come away dissatisfied!), meditation sessions, ayurvedic treatments and other interesting activities like Tibetan singing bowls sessions, mandala painting classes, sightseeing, and bongo classes.
All of this without compromising on a comfortable stay in the slightest! Each room is tastefully decorated, airy, with the comfiest beds to ensure a good night’s sleep. To introduce some variety in the day’s schedule, even the daily surf and yoga sessions differ. They have a few local instructors who are super friendly and professional. Your surf sessions may happen on a different beach every day: Unawatuna, Wijaya, Dewata. There’s a few styles of yoga on offer as well—Kundalini, SUP, mandala, acro— with different qualified instructors for each.
What I really like about Earthlinks is that it’s a family-friendly retreat, and really is fun and wonderfully energizing for all age groups! Sandra and Jack, who are parents themselves, have intentionally made their retreat accessible to families. Whether you’re stretching your bodies into mandalas in a group yoga session, cheering each other on as both parent and kid catch their first wave, or visiting a turtle sanctuary, there are many great activities for families to bond over. Care is at the center of this couple’s philosophy. Caring for the environment through sustainable practices, caring for our bodies by keeping them exercised and healthy, caring for each other by learning to share experiences in meaningful ways.

Earthlinks is the most amazing place a little oasis of calm with delicious food, great yoga and surfing. Sandra and Jack are the perfect hosts and go out of their way to ensure your stay is perfect. I can’t wait to go back!
This was my first time doing a yoga retreat and I think it's going to be very hard to go somewhere else now because I loved EARTHLINKS so much! I can't wait to go back next year! The guesthouse is situated near Hikkaduwa, away from the town, but walk-able distance from all the shops and the beach. It's surrounded by lush greenery, full of tropical fruit trees and signing birds.
Sandra and Jack are truly amazing hosts, very welcoming, accommodating and helpful. They are also very sociable, it was like meeting two old friends. I loved spending time with them, sharing meals and watching movies in their outdoor cinema.
The retreat is 100% vegan what made me love it even more. All the meals were absolutely delicious, abundant, healthy and colorful.
I also enjoyed all my yoga sessions and my first ever surfing classes with local instructors (very nice, lovely people). I definitely left the retreat stronger, more stretched than ever and full of fun memories of my surfing classes.
Sandra and Jack, THANK you one more time for this amazing, unforgettable experience!! :)

I am out of this world grateful to have come across this beautiful family.
Sandra, Jack, the 2 darling boys & Moody made my stay so special.
I came with a heavy heart & mind and left feeling lighter and inspired.
Thank you for having me. xx
Spending time at Earthlinks was the perfect end to my time in Sri Lanka. Sandra and Jack were welcoming and thoughtful hosts, making me feel at home from the moment I arrived. They have painstakingly restored their Villa, making it a beautiful home and retreat for anyone who stays.
The design and details made the space a joy to spend time in and it was just a short tuk tuk ride away from the main street in Hikkaduwa and their great cafe Bodhi. I was lucky enough to have a delicious breakfast and tea every morning, the rotti and dahl was incredible. Sandra and Jack also organised a brilliant yoga teacher for me to enjoy 1on1 sessions each day of my stay. I would recommend staying there to anyone. Thank you Sandra and Jack.
My husband and I spent 4 days at Earthlinks and loved it! Lots to do in and around the resort-everything is a short tuk tuk away. The retreat itself is nestled up the hill so very restful, lush, and green. Our hosts, Jack and Sandra, were perfect - they created a thoughtful itinerary to accommodate both our interests. The yoga was excellent as was the surfing. And the food! My husband is the furthest thing from vegan, but he really enjoyed the meals- especially the bean burgers. Having a trained chef create your vegan meals was a real treat....Moody the resident dog was a blast as well.
I really recommend this spot as it's got something for everyone...
This is not for everyone! Please be a good-hearted, loving person if you want to spend time here because this is what they deserve and this is what they'll give you a lot of! unconditionally and truly! You'll have the best time here, I assure you that. The villa is cozy and lies in the middle of a little jungle area next to the lake. Jack and Sandra are happy people, with a big juicy smile in their face wanting to take care of you a lot! You'll dive in more than you can imagine and you'll calm down and find yourself in a better place for a while. Do it...
I love the Earthlinks vibes! Sandra and Jack made my stay at The Earthlinks feel incredibly warm and homely <3. They also really understand the power of good food & I got to share some amazing meals with them. As a vegan it was great to find a place where vegan food is celebrated in such an amazing way! During the low season they also organize Vegan Supper Clubs where Sandra will find her way to your heart through her crazy talents as a vegan chef. When you're there definitely say hi to their cute dog 'Moody' and ask them for tips about the area, which they know very well.
